Last full verification pass: October 2026. Next scheduled pass: January 2027. Every clinic in this directory went through the same verification pass. For each operator we check: the official website and whether it is current; operating status signals across independent platforms; published pricing, captured with dates; safety protocol claims in the clinic's own words, including EKG screening, ACLS certification, monitoring practices and hospital proximity; named staff and whether medical credentials are verifiable; the review record across Google, Recovery.com, PlacidWay and Reddit; and complaint history, including scam reports and legal issues.
Each profile carries a safety-transparency scorecard measured against the 2016 GITA clinical guidelines, the field's reference standard. The scorecard measures what a clinic publicly discloses, which is not the same as what it does; a low score means you need to ask more questions, not necessarily that care is poor. We say so plainly on every profile.
What we exclude: operators with documented fraud patterns, operators whose founders claim medical titles without verifiable credentials, and facilities that do not actually offer ibogaine but appear in other directories through misclassification. We found nine of those, and they are listed on our excluded page.
We accept no payment for inclusion or ranking. Clinics can pay to claim their listing, which adds their logo, photos, contact details and a followed website link to their profile, and claimed clinics can purchase featured placements: advertising cards that always carry a paid-placement label and appear separately from, and never inside, the organic listings. Neither product changes a safety score, a ranking, or a red flag, and excluded operators cannot buy their way in. If a clinic disputes anything in its profile, it can reach us with documentation and we will review it.
Verification ownership: verification is conducted by James Bean and the Twelve Trees research team, based in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, with an office in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Individual clinic profiles show the specific last-verified date. This site provides information, not medical advice; ibogaine carries serious cardiac risks, so speak with a licensed physician before considering any treatment.
How we measure the drive to a hospital: we take each clinic's location from its published street address or, when it has none, from its Google Maps listing, find hospitals within 30 km in OpenStreetMap, keep only real hospitals (dropping clinics, labs and offices that are tagged as hospitals), and measure the driving time to each with OSRM, an open routing engine. Times are typical road times without traffic. We then check the nearest hospital's Google listing for an emergency room and 24-hour opening. Clinics that hide their address get no map; we say so on their page.
Ratings: we show each clinic's Google rating and review count for its Mexico location, read in October 2026. Ratings come from Google users, not from us, and they can be gamed; we show them next to the safety checks, never in place of them.
Sources on every page: for each safety check, the clinic page shows the page we read and a short quote from it, with the date. Prices come from each clinic's own price page or a directory listing the clinic controls.
Stricter scoring: a check counts as published only when the clinic says it in its own words on its own site. Monitoring described as continuous without saying it is heart monitoring now scores partial, and so does a hospital distance or an on-site ambulance without a named hospital. A rule that appears only in a general article on a clinic's blog counts as partial too.
Incidents: when a clinic confirms a death or a serious incident, or a named publication reports one, we add it to an "On the record" note on that clinic's page, with the source, and flag it in the directory. Allegations from anonymous reviews stay under "What to ask about" and are labeled as allegations.
New providers: we list a clinic once it has a public record of treating patients that we can check, usually a few months of outside reviews. Clinics that opened in the last few months, or whose claims about themselves we cannot reconcile, wait for the next check.
Checking schedule: we re-check every clinic each quarter. The October 2026 check re-read 20 listed clinics on their own sites, added 2 new providers found on Google Maps, and moved 5 more operators to the excluded list. The next full check is scheduled for January 2027.
