What drives the price

Four things move the number more than anything else. First, program length: a 5-day psycho-spiritual retreat costs a fraction of a 30-day methadone detox. Second, the substance: fentanyl, methadone and Suboxone detoxes need longer stabilization and cost more, sometimes double a standard opiate program. Third, medical depth: clinics with physicians, ICU-style monitoring and cardiology workups charge more than retreat houses, and that premium is usually worth paying for detox cases. Fourth, timing and occupancy: one Cancún clinic prices like an airline, charging $12,500 if you book 90 days out and $19,500 for immediate admission.

What is usually included

Nearly all published prices are all-inclusive of lodging, meals, the medicine, pre-treatment labs and ground transfer from the nearest airport or the San Diego border. What varies is aftercare: some clinics include structured integration programs for weeks after treatment, others hand you a discharge sheet. Two of the complaint patterns we found in reviews involve aftercare that did not materialize, so ask exactly what happens after day seven.

Payment realities

Every clinic is private pay. US insurance does not cover ibogaine anywhere, since it remains Schedule I federally. Clinics accept wires, cards in most cases, and sometimes financing. Veteran and first-responder discounts are common and worth asking about; one flagship clinic takes $1,000 off for veterans. Be cautious with operators that only take wire or cash-app style deposits and have thin review histories.

Rule of thumb: for opioid detox, do not let price alone pick the clinic. The cheapest tier is dominated by retreat operators with the lowest safety disclosure, and opioid patients carry the cardiac risk. See the safety guide.
