Who runs IbogaQuest
Founder Barry Rossinoff and dosing lead Felipe Olbes. Physicians Dr. Juan Moller (on site during the treatment week) and Dr. René Quiroz (supervising, pre-treatment screening), head nurse Juanita Santoyo Flores (on duty around the clock during treatment), and an ambulance with paramedics on site on dosing days. The site requires an EKG, blood count, metabolic panel, urinalysis and liver tests, and states full ACLS qualification and equipment during dosing.
Is IbogaQuest legit?
IbogaQuest is an operating retreat in Tepoztlán as of our October 2026 check, with a 4.4 Google rating from 41 reviews. The longest-running retreat on this list, 90 minutes from Mexico City, with two named physicians, an explicit ACLS statement, a nurse on duty around the clock during treatment and an ambulance on site on dosing days. It had its first client death in 17 years in 2025, which it disclosed when a journalist asked. It is a home-like retreat rather than a clinical facility, and says so.
More than 17 years of operation and about 1,300 participants, by its own count. It now describes itself as a cooperative, not-for-profit project.
On the record- 2025. Asked by the newsletter Ecstatic Integration, IbogaQuest said it had its first and only client death in 2025, after 17 years of operation. It said the client had a history of opioid and polysubstance use, that the family did not pursue legal action, and that it has since strengthened its medical pre-screening.
