Mood-focused programs, sometimes labeled psycho-spiritual, run shorter and cheaper than detox programs, typically 4 to 7 days from $3,500 to $8,000 at clinics that publish pricing. The evidence here is the thinnest of any indication: mood outcomes in the veteran study were strong but secondary, and no controlled trial has tested ibogaine for primary depression or anxiety.
Two practical notes. Patients on SSRIs and several other psychiatric medications need supervised tapers before treatment, since drug interactions matter for QT risk; clinics with real medical staff handle this, retreats often do not. And anyone with a history of psychosis or certain psychiatric conditions is excluded by responsible providers. Treat mood programs as experimental and choose providers accordingly.
